We’re aware that the temporary traffic lights outside The Spread Eagle Hotel are causing some traffic issues in the town centre. The historic signpost outside the hotel was damaged recently, so the lights are necessary in the interests of public safety and to protect the sign from further damage.

This is a reminder that Thame Carnival will not be happening this year. The carnival committee announced this decision back in October, where they said: “After many wonderful years of community celebration, Sharon is stepping down as Lead for Thame Carnival due to personal reasons. The committee has also decided to step down because they currently have fewer than five volunteers — which simply isn’t enough to run an event of this scale.

Last Saturday, Chinnor Rugby Club hosted the Mayor’s Charity Ball in their marquee. Over 200 guests attending enjoyed a three course meal and music from local band ‘Counting Colours’ and local DJ Mark Fellowes ensured the dance floor was packed all evening!
