Your 2018 winners have been announced!
Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination this year. Keep your eyes peeled for when nominations open in February 2019 for the 11th Thame Town Awards.
There are people all around Thame who help their neighbours, support local groups or go out of their way for others in their community. That is why, ten years ago, Thame Town Council launched Thame Town Awards as a way to recognise, thank and celebrate those special people who are working hard to make our community a safer, more vibrant and happier place to live.
Since the Town Awards launched, we have awarded 60 local individuals, organisations and businesses with a Town Award to acknowledge their contribution to the town.
How it works
Each year the Town Council invites members of the public to nominate someone in our community who they think deserves some recognition. There are five categories in which people can be nominated:
- Lifetime Achievement
- Volunteer of the Year
- Creative Arts Achievement
- Sporting Achievement
- Service with a Smile
The nomination period is usually open from the end of February to the start of April. Once the nomination period closes on Thursday 29 March 2018, the Town Awards panel, which is made up of representatives from the local community, have the difficult task of deciding who is the most deserving recipient of each award. The winners are presented with their awards at an awards ceremony in early May.
