Thame Town Council adopted the Thame Green Living Plan in 2020 – a 10 year plan for a greener, cleaner Thame. This was created by a voluntary group  – Thame Green Living – and you can find out more about it, and the work being taken to achieve it through this link.

Thame Sustainability Champions Awards

To support local businesses and organisations to engage with the Green Living Plan, the Thame Sustainability Champion Awards were launched in March 2025.

The awards are designed to celebrate local businesses and organisations committed to sustainable practices – encouraging them to not only reduce their carbon footprint and inspire each other to adopt eco-friendly practices, but also to engage in action that will have a real impact locally. 

The awards include a Bronze, Silver and Gold level , and content varies based on whether or not you are a business, community group, local event etc. More details on the content are available here:

Thame Sustainability Champion Awards

All businesses, community groups and organisations are encourage to participate. The awards are run on a roll-on, roll-off basis, allowing you to start your own involvement at any time of year. The entry ‘Bronze’ award provides a level playing field for all to get involved, whatever your size or resource.
