Each year the Town Council invites members of the public to nominate someone in our community who they think deserves some recognition. Anyone can make a nomination, as long as the person or organisation being nominated lives, works or studies in Thame. Please report anti-social behaviour on 101

8th May 2026

Recently, our Maintenance Team are regularly litter-picking broken glass in our play areas. Originally this was predominantly at Southern Road, but we have now had reports of broken glass in the Skate Park too. We are working with the police to monitor this situation, and our team continue to litter pick the play areas seven days a week.

Spread Eagle sign

We’re aware that the temporary traffic lights outside The Spread Eagle Hotel are causing some traffic issues in the town centre. The historic signpost outside the hotel was damaged recently, so the lights are necessary in the interests of public safety and to protect the sign from further damage.

Memorial Gardens ponds

Reminder that Thame Carnival is not happening this year

8th May 2026

This is a reminder that Thame Carnival will not be happening this year. The carnival committee announced this decision back in October, where they said:  “After many wonderful years of community celebration, Sharon is stepping down as Lead for Thame Carnival due to personal reasons. The committee has also decided to step down because they currently have fewer than five volunteers — which simply isn’t enough to run an event of this scale.
