Getting Here
Thame is located 14 miles east of Oxford, 10 miles south-west of Aylesbury and 47 miles from London. It is well connected to Birmingham and London by the M40 motorway and has excellent road links to Chinnor (B4445), Princes Risborough (A4129) and Bicester (B4011). By car
Thame is easily accessible from the M40 at J6, J7 and J8a heading west and J8a and J6 heading east. The A418 links Thame to Oxford and Aylesbury.

Two hours free on-street parking is available along the roads through the Town Centre – managed by the Police, check local signage.
Two hours free parking (customers only) is also available at Sainsbury’s (access via Southern Road) and Waitrose (access via Greyhound Lane) – both privately managed.
Pay a Parking Fine
If you have received a Excess Charge Notice (ECN) whilst parking in either the Upper High Street or High Street car parks, you can pay the fine in a number of ways:
Pay Online
You can pay your parking fine online – you will need your debit / credit card details, ECN number and vehicle registration. Please note: tickets cannot be paid online on the day they are received – please allow 24 hours or use one of the options below.
Pay by Card
Please call us on 01844 212833 with your debit / credit card and ECN ticket details or vehicle registration ready. Please note: this option is only available during Town Hall Information Centre opening hours.
Pay it in Person
You can settle your ECN in person at the Town Hall Information Centre. Payment can be made via card, cash, cheque or postal order.
Pay by Post
You can send payment to the Town Hall, High Street, Thame, OX9 3DP. Please ensure you include details of your ECN ticket number. Please make cheques payable to Thame Town Council.
Pay by Bank Transfer
Please call us on 01844 212833 to obtain our BACS details and for directions on how you can pay via bank transfer. Please note: this option is only available during Town Hall opening hours.

By train
Haddenham and Thame Parkway is only 2 miles from Thame and is on the Chiltern Railways Line. The station is on a direct line to London Marylebone, a journey that takes under an hour, as well as to Oxford and Birmingham. Sapphire 280 (Arriva) Bus provides a regular link from the station to Thame town centre.

Good to know
Public toilets are located at the Market House (next to the Citizen’s Advice building) and at the Cattle Market – both on North Street – and open daily between 8am and 7:30pm. Disabled and baby-changing facilities are available at both of these locations. A disabled toilet is also available in the Town Hall during opening hours. Access to all disabled toilets is via a RADAR key, which can purchased from the Information Centre.
