Facilities for Hire

Thame Town Council has a variety of rooms and facilities available to hire to suit community events or activities. These include: 

  • the Upper Chamber, suitable for larger meetings or events,
  • the Meeting Room, suitable for smaller meetings of up to 10 people,
  • external electricity points around the Town Hall,
  • a number of open spaces around the town that are available for hire for community events, festivals, sporting events etc.

Thame Equipment Bank, a project delivered by 21st Century Thame, provides equipment for hire such as marquees, tables, chairs, PA systems, lights, gazebos, stage, etc.- everything needed to put on an event. Community groups, individuals and businesses are all able to access this service.

Red Kite Family Centre

  • Main activity room available for hire on weekday evenings (from 3:30pm) and weekends, for birthday parties and adult groups and meetings.
  • All hiring packages include the use of kitchen facilities and toilets (inc. disabled). Party groups can use general play equipment as well!

St Joseph’s Church

  • The hall can hold 50 people maximum, the Church can hold 200 people maximum
  • The charge for the hall hire is £20 per hour and £30 for the Church

St Mary’s Church

  • Beautiful, historic church with space for up to 350 people 
  • 5 minute walk to the Town Centre and bus stops 
  • Kitchenette (for preparation of cold food and hot drinks)

  • Quiet Room: this room has easy chairs and is suitable for up to 8 people
  • Room 1: suitable for about 25 people
  • Small Barn: up to 40 people
  • Large Barn: up to 100 people. 
  • Free Wi-Fi access throughout.

Thame Business Hub

  • Light, airy, sits up to 8 comfortable and has HD presentation facilities.
  • Available for £10 per hour.
  • Open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Thame Cricket Club

  • Available for one-off functions or regular meetings.

Thame Town Hall

  • Meeting Room: currently unavailable to hire.
  • Upper Chamber: 80 seated or 120 standing. Included in the hire is the use of trestle tables, chairs, kitchen facility and free Wi-Fi.

The Players Theatre

Nelson Street, Thame, OX9 2DP

  • The theatre is available to hire for business conferences, presentations, training events, film screenings and private shows. It is also a venue used by TV and film production companies and by voluntary and community groups.
  • The theatre offers:
    • Raked seating for 128
    • Full stage and lighting facilities, with wide screen and back projection
    • A foyer with a fully equipped bar
    • Kitchen and coffee-making facilities
    • Free Wi-Fi
    • Disabled access and toilet facilities

The Black Horse

  • Host a seated meal for up to 26 people or standing canape events for up to 40 in our private dining room.
  • Or hire out the rear section of the main barn part of the restaurant for seated parties of up to 40 or standing up to 80. We can also hire the whole of the barn for seated parties of up to 100 or standing of 150.
  • Prices subject to minimum spends and price changes but always happy to quote.

The Churchill Arms

  • Function room can fit 30 in a boardroom style or 25 for a sit-down meal, 50 in a auditorium style or for drinks or a buffet. We can do meetings with lunch or private parties. This will depend on availability and requirements.
  • Free hire as spend will be on food and drinks.
  • Free Wi-Fi access.
  • Heating and cooling system.
  • Fully functional kitchen that serves Thai food.
  • Coffee and tea station or waiter service.
  • Licensed bar.
  • Outside break-out area.
  • Audio system for presentations but currently no visual so that would need to be provided
