Minutes of the Personnel Committee Meeting held on 13 January 2015 at 5pm in the Meeting Room, Thame Town Hall.

Present: Town Mayor Cllr J Matelot Green, Deputy Mayor Cllr N Dixon Chairman of Policy and Resources Cllr M Dyer, Chairman of CLR Cllr N Champken–Woods and Chairman of Planning & Environment Cllr H Fickling.

1 Apologies for Absence

There were no apologies for absence.

There were no requests for public participation.

RESOLVED that :Pursuant to Section 1 (2) of the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960 that because of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted, the public and press leave the meeting during consideration of: Agenda Item:5 Managing the Risks of Recruiting a New Town Clerk


5 Managing the Risks of Recruiting a New Town Clerk

The issue was part of a more general discussion about what possible delays could occur during the recruitment process. The Committee agreed that if possible the existing Town Clerk would remain in employment until a new clerk had been appointed and a hand over period had taken place. The incumbent Town Clerk agreed that this was agreeable but if a new clerk had not been appointed in the first round of the interviews then the situation would need revisiting.

Using the timetable for recruitment agreed by Full Council and accounting for notice to be served by anyone appointed this would take the first round of interviews possibly to the end of April beginning of May.

Whilst this addressed the appointment of a new town clerk the transition for the Neighbourhood Plan projects would require further consideration by the Council.
