No persuasion needed

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Thame town centre shops once again showed their support for one of the town’s annual events –  Thame Arts & Literature Festival . To celebrate and promote the event they donned their top hats, coats & tails (not forgetting the doilies) to tie in with the Jane Austen theme. The shop crowned winner of this ‘Dress to Impress’ competition was Brothers Hair Salon, retaining the title of ‘Best Dressed Shop’, gained earlier in the year at the Thame Town Music Festival.

‘We felt this window was very inspired, especially using titles of Jane Austen novels to make an acrostica of ‘Aveda’ their core product’ said festival director Yvonne Maxwell. Sobell House was second with Oxfam bookshop coming third. Other participants included Baban, Greens Furnishings and The Shaw Trust charity shop. Each entry was unique and an incredible amount of effort was obviously put into each display.

The next competition will run at Christmas time, when we will look to the rest of the High Street to see if they can win the crown (or perhaps we mean Santa Hat) from Brothers.
