Key election dates for your diary

With elections taking place at Thame Town Council and South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) this May, below is a list of key dates for voters and candidates.

  • 20 March to 4 April (4.00pm) – The period which candidates must submit their nomination papers by hand to SODC.
  • 5 April – List of candidates published.
  • 17 April – Deadline to register to vote
  • 18 April – Deadline for postal votes to reach SODC.
  • 25 April – Deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate – if you do not have an accepted form of ID, you need to apply for this free certificate in order to be able to vote in this, and future, elections.
  • 4 May (7.00am – 10.00pm) – Election Day! Remember to bring ID.
  • 5 May – Results Day. Results will be announced on SODC’s website and social media channels.
