Happy New Year Thame!

Thame Town Council would like to wish all our residents and businesses a happy 2024!
2024 is a big year for Thame and the Town Council as we turn 50 years old. 

If your New Year’s resolution is to get more involved in your community, or you have a passion for Thame, or maybe interested in local government, there are plenty of ways to get involved in all things Thame this year.

Attend council meetings
Did you know you can attend council meetings; we have Full Council Meetings and the following Standing Committees: 
– Personnel
– Community, Leisure & Recreation
– Policy & Resources
– Planning & Environment
-Open Spaces Sub Committee 
To find out about which meeting is next taking place, and what they are discussing, head over to our notice board in Montesson Square where the legal notice is displayed. Or online here 
If you see an matter which is being considered by the Council that you would like to discuss at a meeting, you are more than welcome to; you can apply by writing to the Town Clerk at Thame Town Hall, Thame, OX9 3DP, or by calling 01844 212833 or email info@thametowncouncil.gov.uk no later than 5pm on the last working day preceding the meeting.
You will be allowed 5 minutes to speak, which may be shared with a group or other individuals depending on the meeting.

Join a community group 
If you are looking for ways to widen your hobbies, whilst meeting new people, why not join one of Thame’s many groups! Take a look at the large variety of groups we have in Thame via our Community Directory

Volunteer at our events
Thame Town Council are always looking for ways to expand on our events, such as the Christmas Lights Switch On, Taste of Thame and Thame Art Crawl. Why not volunteer with us? Whether you’re a whizz at admin, love a bit of logistics or have a creative flair, there is always space for your ideas!

Cast a nomination for Thame Town Awards 
In July we will be hosting our annual Town Awards, where we celebrate all the amazing people in our town and their contributions to our community! 
Voting will open in May, so start having at think about who you feel adds something unique and special to our town, from teachers, to local businesses, sports teams, to even your jolly postie!
