Thame teenager to play at Lord’s

Congratulations go to Luke Hayes of Lord Williams’s School and Thame Town Cricket Club (TTCC) who, at the age of 17 has been selected to represent the MCC Schools against the English Schools Cricket Association (ESCA) at Lord’s cricket ground on Friday 8 September.

Luke is a product of Barley Hill primary school and has graduated rapidly through the junior section of TTCC, starting in the Under 9s section. He is the first Thame player to play at Lord’s since long-standing club captain, Mike Beard represented the ESCA.

Thame’s Men’s 1st XI will finish their league season on Saturday with a trip to play Horspath, starting at 11.00am. At Church Meadow, the 2nd XI (currently in 4th place) will complete their season in a local derby against Tiddington 2nds (12.00pm start). Meanwhile, the women’s team will entertain Oxford in their final league game of the season, starting at 12.00pm on Sunday, also at Church Meadow.
