Oxfordshire v Berkshire T20 cricket match

In a huge year for English cricket, Oxfordshire will be playing twice at Church Meadow this season, after the success of minor county cricket here in recent seasons. The first time on Monday 1 May will be a T20 day of two matches against neighbours Berkshire, starting at 11.00am.

Meanwhile, Thame Town CC’s own pre-season games have been hit by the heavy rain of recent weeks. The first match on Church Meadow is likely to be the traditional warm-up between the 3rd and 4th XIs – ‘The Mashes’ (this Saturday 29 April, 12.30pm start), while the 1st XI will travel the short distance on Saturday to Aston Rowant, to play Oxford CC in a Home Counties T20 triangular competition starting at 12.00pm. If successful, they will progress to a final on the same afternoon.

The women’s team, newly-promoted to the Home Counties Premier Division, will travel on Monday 1st to play Binfield in a cup match. They will then host a Softball tournament at Church Meadow, on Sunday 7 May, starting at 12.30pm, to which all women and girls (over 14) will be very welcome.

The Men’s 1st XI will start their Home Counties Div 2 league season, at home to Gerrards Cross, on Saturday 6 May at 11.30am, with the 2nd, 3rd & 4th XIs also in action that day, in their respective divisions of the Cherwell League.
