Parking consultation update

Update – 6 October 2022

There is just over a week left to have your say on the parking consultation in Thame. Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) want to hear your views on the proposals to amend parking restrictions in Thame, which includes paid parking bays, permit holder bays, and various other changes which can be read in more detail on the County Council’s website: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/thame_highstreetparkstreet_parking2022.

It’s important that residents and businesses all have their say before the consultation closes on Friday 14 October 2022.

OCC have granted a short extension for the Town Council to respond. The Town Council will be considering the proposals and making a response to the consultation at its Planning and Environment Committee meeting on 18 October. Anyone is welcome to come and observe the meeting. If you would like to speak, you need to register by 5.00pm on 17 October. Please note that there will be 5 minutes for all those speaking against the proposals and 5 minutes for those speaking in support.

Update – 21 September 2022

Oxfordshire County Council have launched a public consultation asking for your views on the proposals to amend parking restrictions in Thame. To better manage the demand for retail and residential parking, the County Council are proposing a number of changes to how on-street parking bays are used by residents and visitors to the town.

An invitation from Thame Town Council to hold a public meeting in Thame to discuss their parking consultation has been declined by Oxfordshire County Council (OCC), who have advised that the process is ‘as stated in the consultation’ and that people will get the chance to come to a public meeting scheduled for 10.00am on 17 November at County Hall. This is where OCC councillors will be considering all the consultation responses, therefore all your feedback to OCC is crucial by the deadline of 14 October https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/thame_highstreetparkstreet_parking2022. Hard copies are also available to view at Thame Library during opening hours.
