Thame Town Council – Statement

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

“It is with deep sadness that Thame Town Council heard the announcement today from Buckingham Palace that Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away.

This sadness, we are sure, is shared by many of you who will want to remember and recognise the service of Queen Elizabeth II. The Council wishes to express its sincere condolences to the members of the Royal family at this very difficult time.

A Book of Condolence is now available at the Town Hall for members of the community to add their condolences. This will close at 5pm on the day after the funeral. An online book of condolence is available at www.royal.uk/books-condolence. You can find out what is happening nationally and details of the mourning period and funeral at royal.uk

In accordance with protocol and as a mark of respect the Union Flag, at the Town Hall and Memorial Gardens, will fly at half mast.

We are reviewing our schedule of events, meetings, and civic functions in the days ahead and there are likely to be some changes. Please be patient while we do this and check this webpage for updates.

Flowers may be left in the Memorial Gardens. Please remove any cellophane from floral tributes. They will be kept in place until the week after the funeral, subject to weather conditions.”
