Thame Wombles

Thame Wombles
Thame Wombles is a new local venture, seeking WOMBLES who will regularly search their local area, picking up litter. During lockdown, we are restricted to ‘solo wombling’, but once we are free to roam again, it is hoped there can be regular group events. Please do read the guidelines for safe litter picking. The Thame Wombles group has been inspired by the Aylesbury Wombles, and - for those who are old enough to remember – by the original Wombles of Wimbledon Common. First created in 1968, the Wombles aimed to help the environment by collecting and recycling rubbish in creative ways, and that’s the same aim we have today. So please help us embrace the wombling spirit in Thame: keeping Thame looking tidy, and protecting our environment by ensuring that litter doesn’t endanger wildlife or pollute our soil and waterways. ,
