Thame foodbank update from Sharing Life Trust

Here are the numbers for our Foodbank and Community Larder during June:

A total of 136 food parcels were delivered.
These provided for 195 adults and 139 children.
A total of 61 different households were supported, many receiving more than one food parcel during the month.
93% of these households were referred for help by our partner agencies.

As we have mentioned before, we are finding that, with the current cost of living crisis, there are many households where income is just not meeting outgoings any more. This is despite budgeting support and ensuring that all benefits to which people are entitled are being received.

Our Community Larder continues to meet at Christchurch Hall in Thame every Thursday afternoon between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. We now have 135 members; it is not means tested and is open to everyone. With a joining fee of £10.00 and a weekly subscription of £3.50 for an individual membership or £7.00 for a family membership, members will normally find that they can get more than three times that cost in the value of food they receive each week.
