A tea party for the TGNS volunteers

Last Friday the Town Council hosted a tea party for the Thame Good Neighbour Scheme volunteers at the Barns Centre. It was a chance for the volunteers to meet up and chat over a cup of tea and cake and for officers and councillors to say ‘thank you.’ The TGNS was launched in March 2015 and has around 40 volunteers who help primarily elderly and vulnerable residents get to medical appointments, pick up prescriptions and shopping plus offering a range of household tasks. To date well over 1000 requests for help have been received for around 300 clients. If you would like to volunteer please visit the website to complete the application form.
