Meet Helena Richards, your new Town Councillor!

At the by-election in May 2021, Helena Richards was elected to join Thame Town Council.

I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as town councillor for Thame North and to have received such a warm welcome from the council and the town hall team. I have been a resident in the Thame area for 21 years and am a real fan of the town. Our 4 children have grown up here and been educated at Thame schools and all agree that this is a fantastic place to grow up.

I believe in maintaining the feel of Thame as a market town and supporting local businesses but also have an eye on the future and embracing what changes will need to happen to keep Thame thriving and  face the challenges of climate change and loss of biodiversity.

As a Green Party councillor I fully support the Green Living Plan adopted by Thame and am looking forward to the development of exciting new ideas with the team.

I also work as a part time doctor in roles in General Practice and hospital medicine and I am passionate about the promotion of health and well-being for all ages, not just meaning sport activities but other activities that help combat loneliness and stress too. I think that any opportunity to improve facilities for Thame should be embraced.

I intend to work hard with my fellow councillors to do my best for Thame. Thank you for the opportunity.
