Would you like to be happier, but not sure how or what you can do to control this sometimes-elusive emotion? Come and join The Happiness Lab which is a 6-week course that helps delegates to explore what doctors, psychologists and faith leaders say about happiness.
Discover different disciplines that can make you happy. Places are filling up fast and it runs from 7.30 – 9 PM on Weds 9th of Oct at the Thame Cricket Club and then on the following Weds 16 & 23rd of October, break for half term and then Weds 6th, 13th and 20th of Nov.
It is not for profit course but there would be a £30 charge to cover delegate workbook, 101 happiness experiments book and room hire.
If you are interested contact John Bancroft or email firstname.lastname@example.org and you can also find out more here www.thehappinesslab.org
It’s based on a series of fly-on-the-wall documentaries and delegates follow twelve people as they explore the following disciplines.
The idea is that as we observe their journey space is created enabling us to engage in a conversation about our own happiness.
The themes of each episode are:
Episode 1: Focusing on gratitude and savouring
Episode 2: Practicing acts of kindness
Episode 3: Learning to forgive
Episode 4: Investing in friends and family
Episode 5: Looking after your body and soul
Episode 6: Developing coping strategies
This resource does not offer a prescriptive answer. Yes, professionals have pointed to indicators that could aid someone’s journey to their earthly “nirvana”, but the purpose of the course is to help delegates conduct their own experiments and come to their own conclusions. We operate on the belief that happiness comes from living and this course aims to better equip people to flourish as they navigate their way through life.
