Thame Poetry Salon – An Open Mic Night for Poetry, Storytelling and Music
Date and time: 14/08/2026, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: The Cross Keys
🌙Calling local creatives – poets, storytellers, improvisers, musicians and audience members 🌙
Have you got a notebook or note app full of your creations? 📋
Want to share them with an appreciative audience? 🙌🏻
Or maybe you’re a local looking for a unique night of entertainment without having to travel to Oxford or further afield?
✅Then come to the next Thame Poetry Salon on Friday the 14th of August from the 7-9pm at The Cross Keys 🗝️
It’s an open mic night with a twist, where creatives get the chance to perform their art and then each poem or performance gets a complement from the audience ✨
Here’s a recent testimonial of the salon:
Attending the poetry reading evening hosted by Caoilfhionn is always a delight. She creates a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and encouraged to share their words, regardless of experience. The feedback is consistently positive and kind, fostering creativity and confidence in every participant. It’s truly a special space in the community where poetry is celebrated and connections are formed.
If you love poetry and enjoy a friendly environment with perhaps a glass or two, this is for you !

What to expect at this event:
📝I will create a list of performers from those who contacted me in advance and from those who ask on the door. Depending on the number of entries you will have the chance to perform 1-2 poems, or more if they are Haiku.
🎼I also welcome other creative performances such as music, storytelling or a short stand-up comedy routine. If there are too many performers, I will prioritise those who asked first.
You are very welcome to come if you don’t want to perform – we need audience members! Your attention helps bring the art to life ⚡️
🖤 My goal with these events is that each performer leaves buoyed and supported in their craft, so I ask that a willing member of the audience gives them a complementary and insightful reflection of their performance. No criticism is allowed (life often offers plenty of that!)
🍷There will be a break half way through, and I ask that you support The Cross Keys by purchasing a drink or more throughout the event.
If you have any questions at all, get in touch via messenger.
Big love,
Caoilfhionn 🖤
