Thame Arts & Literature Festival

Thame Arts & Literature Festival

Date and time: 13/10/2021 - 17/10/2021, All Day
Location: Thame Town Centre

Preparations are well underway for this October’s popular and evergrowing festival, the Thame Arts & Literature Festival – with one big
“It’s difficult for us to predict exactly where we’ll be with restrictions by then, so we made the decision to go for a hybrid festival,” says Yvonne Maxwell, Founder and Director of TAL Festival.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming back actual live audiences to the Players Theatre in Thame. Now our festival visitors can choose either to visit the theatre, where COVID safety measures will be in place, or stay at home on their settee and not miss anything as they can live stream our events online.”

TAL Festival’s usual four-day feast of culture and fun has also now been extended to five. Included in the exciting line-up are Ed Miliband, former Labour leader and now Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial, popular radio presenter, writer and podcaster Simon Mayo, former Home Secretary and now awardwinning author Alan Johnson and two of our finest historians, Alison Weir and Sarah Gristwood.

Other brilliant and award-winning names appearing at TAL’s 12th festival include one of the world’s leading zoologists and popular science writer Richard Dawkins, Adele Parks, The Sunday Times number one best-selling author, Gavin Esler, well-known television and radio broadcaster, novelist and journalist who is currently appearing on Celebrity MasterChef, and popular political commentator and journalist, Ian Dunt.

TAL Festival is also thrilled that long-time TAL Festival supporter, Will Gompertz, former BBC’s Arts Editor and now the Barbican Centre’s new Director of Arts and Learning, has agreed to become TAL’s first Festival Patron. He’ll be in conversation with Simon Mayo.

“With a fantastic line-up of events to entertain all tastes, we’re ready to go for another inspirational October,” says Yvonne.

TAL FESTIVAL runs from 13 – 17 October 2021. To book tickets for all events, both online and/or live visit
