Spring Concert: Sonority

The Witchert Chorale’s spring concert on Sat 21 March, is heralded by the arrival of daffodils, along verges and in gardens. Our concert will include trumpets of another kind as we welcome Winchendon Brass to join us in our performance at St Mary’s Long Crendon. The sonorous sound of the brass, separately and together with the voices of the choir, will bring you many delights, including the Mass in A Minor by Imogen Holst. This early work has the clear influence of her mentor Vaughan Williams, but is nevertheless a remarkable and confident work. We also bring you works by other female composers, Clara Schumann and Fanny Hensel, as well as some more familiar music by Mozart and Bruckner.

The concert is in aid of the Friends of St Mary’s Long Crendon and the Florence Nightingale Hospice, and will include interval refreshments. Tickets are available in advance from our website www.witchert.org.uk or by calling Ann on 07876 6783990 or on the door.
