Public Art Workshops

Public Art Workshops

Date and time: 18/09/2021 - 19/09/2021, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location: Thame Scout Hut

A project to create and install public art in Thame is about to start. The money for this work has come from Section 106 funding secured by SODC from new developments around Thame, and has to be spent on art. The aim is that the final work will not only celebrate the heritage and history of Thame, but will also aid wayfinding around the town and encourage people to walk more and drive less.

We want YOU to get involved in the initial workshops focusing on the ‘story of Thame’. Everyone is welcome – we would love children and young people to get involved as well! There are 2 workshops taking place – one on 7/8 September and the other on 18/19 of September. Both will run from 10.00am-3.00pm. The work created during these workshops will be used to inspire permanently sited artworks in Thame.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, while ensuring a full cross-section of Thame residents are involved. Please register your interest NOW by emailing becky.reid@thametowncouncil.gov.uk with your name, age and the name of the street you live on.
