What Matters Most?
- Walkable & connected – Safe walking, cycling and better transport connections
- Green & sustainable – Protecting nature, reducing emissions and improving resilience
- Homes & community – Supporting affordable, healthy and inclusive neighbourhoods
- Thriving town centre – Supporting independent businesses, culture and markets
- Skills & opportunity – Creating opportunity for young people, business and future jobs
- Health & wellbeing – Putting wellbeing and community at the centre of decisions
- Working together – Partnership working across councils, businesses and the community
A Joined-Up Approach
So that decisions support one another rather than compete with one another, the strategy connects:
- Transport
- Housing
- Economy
- Environment
- Health & Wellbeing
- Public Services
- Community Safety
Why Does Thame Need A Strategy?
Thame is changing. Population growth, housing pressures, transport, climate change, public services and the local economy are all connected. To respond successfully, we need one joined-up vision for the future rather than separate plans and disconnected projects. The Strategy will build on the foundations of the Thame Neighbourhood Plan and Green Living Plan.
The Strategy for Thame 2050 is being delivered to guide the town’s future.
