Look out for our UK Town of Culture postcard!

In March, we entered Thame into the first ever UK Town of Culture competition, a competition to restore pride in communities. As part of the bid, all applicants were invited to submit a postcard from their town, depicted above is ours, paired with the following message:
‘Greetings from Thame — a town where 6,000 years ago people carved the hills to make a place to meet, feast and tell tales and where the community spirit lives on today.
From Music in the Park, Pride in the Square, Duck Race on the River, and stories of local legends in the Museum, culture here isn’t an add-on — it’s everyday life.
With creative young people, thriving clubs, and events shaped by residents themselves, Thame feels like a place where everyone belongs and every story matters.
Wish you were here to experience this living, growing, market town.
Love, TH&Me!’
We couldn’t be prouder of our town and the immense community, inclusivity and history it serves – there really is no place like home!
Make sure to keep a look out for our postcard on DCMS’s Facebook, as well as postcards from other competing towns! Shortlisted towns are expected to hear if they’ve been successful by the end of July – fingers crossed Thame makes the mark!
