Removal of Slide

Unfortunately, the slide at Southern Road play area needs to be removed. The Town Council inspects the slide monthly and has made repairs where possible. During a  recent inspection, the slide was found to be at high risk and non-compliant with safety legislation, and therefore following professional advice, the Town Council took the sad, but necessary, decision to remove the slide. The decision was not taken lightly and the Town Council is sad to see this popular slide removed. Due to the relocation of the play area expected within the next 1-2 years as part of the Community & Youth Centre project, the slide will not be replaced.
