Thame Carnival Statement

6th November 2025

After many wonderful years of community celebration, Sharon is stepping down as Lead for Thame Carnival due to personal reasons. The committee has also decided to step down because they currently have fewer than five volunteers — which simply isn’t enough to run an event of this scale.

Freddie van Mierlo, MP for Henley and Thame has welcomed the announcement of significant improvements to the Chiltern Railways service, which will add 10,000 extra seats a day, a 12 per cent increase in capacity, when the new trains enter service from January.
