80th VJ Day Concert

On Saturday 5 July, the RAF Halton Voluntary Band played a concert at St Mary’s Church, in aid of the Thame Royal British Legion.

The band played renditions of World War II classics, from Vera Lynn to those magnificent men in their flying machine, James Bond theme tunes and closed with the RAF Military March.  The vibrant noises of clapping and singing along was enjoyed by all who attended and the retiring collection raised an amazing £513 in aid of the Royal British Legion, Thame Branch.

Please note that on Friday 15 August there will be a wreath laying commemoration at the Thame Memorial Gardens at 11am.
