Thame Businesses! You are invited to a new series of workshops focused on sustainability, as part of the launch of the new Thame Sustainability Champion Award.

Thame Town Council, working in partnership with 21st Century Thame, have recently launched the Thame Sustainability Award – an initiative that is designed to celebrate local businesses and organisations committed to sustainable practices – encouraging them to not only reduce their carbon footprint and inspire each other to adopt eco-friendly practices, but also to engage in action that will have a real impact locally. You can find out more, and sign up to take part, here: https://www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/environment/business-sustainability/

The award is focused around 5 events and 5 actions that tie in with the 5 themes of the Thame Green Living Plan – adopted in 2020 by Thame Town Council. https://thamegreenliving.org.uk/thame-green-living-plan/ The first of these events will focus on Water, and will enable businesses to explore the steps they can take to save water, and money, within their own business. The event will also host guest speaker David Fraser, CEO of the River Thame Conservation Trust, who will also explore how  businesses can support the health of the town’s local waterways, both within their own business practices, but also by getting practically involved in action on the ground – or water.

This event will take place on Friday 16th May at Thame Barns Centre. 9.15am for coffee, with the session running 9.30am-11am.

Businesses do NOT need to be part of the Thame Sustainability Champion Awards to attend, so everyone is invited to attend – especially if your business borders a watercourse.
