Visit Thame

The Mayor of Thame is delighted to welcome you to our community, a thriving market town in the heart of Oxfordshire, perfectly situated at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. Thame is an award-winning town, coming runner-up Small Market Town in the 2016 Great British High Street Competition, and winning Rising Star Award in the 2015 Competition. The town also came second place in the RTPI’s England’s Greatest Places competition.

Like many traditional market towns, Thame grew from Anglo-Saxon roots but has since developed its own individual character whilst preserving its rich history; ancient medieval buildings stand alongside Georgian and Victorian architecture and the iconic boat-shaped high street stands as testimhttps://www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Visit-Thame-Flyer-Web-Version.pdfony to the market place for which it was originally designed.
